  1. So you were born in the old Norton Hall Orangery fentonvillain! that's one up on me and Lysanderix. We both spent time in the Workhouse maternity ward! I was there in 1946. After the bombing of Jessops Hospital in 1940, the Colonnade(orangery) at Norton Hall came into emergency use as a maternity unit. Hartshead from early directories and as you can see no George Lee can be found apart from the one in Newbold and Dunstan, but in 1862 there was three George Lee's as tailors in Newbold and Dunstable, could be they were all related.   3. I would suggest a starting point of Robert Eadon Leader's two books "Sheffield in the Eighteenth Century" and "Reminiscences of Old Sheffield", both of which are available free as Google ebooks. The index of these books show there are quite a few mentions:
