Some interesting reading here and I wasn’t aware that the two Cinecenta screens were now part of the Odeon Luxe multi-screens on Arundel Gate, but I suppose they are actually in the basement!?! 😆 http://cinematreasures.org/theaters/274833 points

ahh yes I found those as well. Muriel was my 2x great-aunt and Joyce and James were my great-grandparents. Joseph and Florence had three daughters, Olive, Joyce and Muriel. Joseph and Florence lived at 80 Bedford Street in 1911 when Olive was 1 year old. Joyce was born a year later in 1912, so I believe that’s when they moved to Barnsley Road. Thank you2 points

Across Tudor Street from the Lyceum is the Theater Royal, so in front of that must be the roof of the Adelphi pub at the corner of Sycamore Street and further up where Tudor Street becomes Tudor Lane and just before the archway on the left of Tudor Lane is Walker and Halls. Furthest left and just above centre you can just make out a bit of Eyre Street. To the left of the Town Hall is Cadman Lane but not easy to pick out. I hope I have things in the right place, it's a bit hard on the eyes.1 point

Can be seen briefly in this film "At ParkSchool the children can be seen in the school yard and also crossing the street outside. Outside some of the prefabs, a class of children is setting out on a visit. Some of the prefabs adjacent to the school are being demolished." http://www.yorkshirefilmarchive.com/film/environmental-health-part-park-hill-slums-1-51 point

Looking at the film titles on offer, I’d say the photos were from no earlier than 1988. Maybe as late as 1989, looking at the cost of fuel at the Murco station (39.4p/ltr or 179.1p/gallon) I used to pass this place regularly as a young ‘un, getting off the 32 in Pond Street, up the escalators and through the underpasses, into the town centre. I always thought this place showed the less salubrious offerings, martial arts films, adult material 😳 etc. John Candy, Goldie Hawn, Croc Dundee all seem a little mainstream to what I remember, but by 1988 I wouldn’t have been passing by much, if at all. It would have been 10 years earlier at least.1 point
