  1. Isn't it great to see children dressed as children and not as young adults as they are today, the girls wearing crop tops and showing just to much for a child and the boys wearing the horrible baseball cap and hoods. The girls of today are dressed as though they are teenagers and some of the boys look quite menacing in their hoods along with a scarf over most of their faces. This photo is what children should be, just children.

  2. I’ll go with that, as I read the plate as ‘W’ reg’. The proliferation of mini-skirts, Lionel Blair’s and wide collars / lapels is more 70’s that 80’s. also the lack of cars of the late 70’s and early 80’s in the car park should have been a tell-tale? I Should’ve gone to SpecSavers! :)

  3. That is correct. The building was halted when war broke out. It was a very different building to the one that appeared later. It had one of those huge tower “fins”, typical of Odeons of the time. I’m glad they changed the plans as they did. The Odeon was a beautiful cinema...... the first post-war one to be built, with state-of-the-art projection and sound. My Dad took me on its first Saturday, to see “Reach for the Sky”.
