Thank you Hi pwallis There doesn't seem to be a James Ward at the Ball or Blue Ball at Pye Bank, if Hannah just lodged at the Ball she would not show as keeper but if you looked at the nearest dated census 1881 to see if she was at the pub then. Although you say James Ward was a publican it may not necessarily have been at the Ball but some how I seem to remember putting that name to a pub. I will have a look. ukelele lady (Reply posted for ukelele lady) =====================================================

vox
Hi UkeLass I've added the 1851 census images to the A-Z These are some things I've noticed Thought it better not to edit anything without your say-so. The cup inn 4, Market Street is called Cup inn/Market inn on the 1851 census. John Holroyd can be added to the list of keepers Bay Childers/Bay Horse John Walker isn't on the keepers list I've added the 1851 census image nevertheless. needs looking into ? Three Horseshoes Jehu Lane/Commercial Street joseph marples can be added (says 12, Jehu lane on census) Blue Bell 13 Jehu Lane/4 Commercial Street in 1871 Thomas Colley 1851 (4, Jehu Lane on 1851 census) Commercial Inn Called Commercial Hotel, Old Haymarket, on the 1851 census (John Barnett)
