RichardB
Oh yes , the data does dovetail nicely together. Are your clocks and watches ticking nicely together? You seem to have spent many hours on them. If the data dovetails and you are happy, please post up the consolidated data, I'm happy there was only the one place, though, rebuilt over the years/blown to smithereens in the War etc etc. Watches and Clocks started as a nice find, rapidly became a nightmare - but - it's a resource and well worth the effort once the ringing in my ears caused by the Tiny wife dies down. Stuart0742
Sorry , I was thinking on different lines. Isn't it strange when we're not talking one to one, face to face how we can get it all wrong? Received by email, from Brian Salmons I was thrilled to see the Queen's at 37 Dun Street, Shalesmoor listed on your website http://www.sheffieldhistory.co.uk/forums/index.php?showtopic=3531&st=320&p=18733&#entry18733 My father and mum (Mr Brian Salmons and Mrs Kathleen Salmons) were tenents of this Whitbread pub from the late 50s until 1965 and I grew up there. As I remember it was actually called the Queens Hotel and only opened in the evenings on weekdays. Stuart0742
Asked if he could remember exact dates as well etc A further update from Brian Salmons Thanks for your mail. I know for certain is that we moved out in March 1965. I was born in 1958 and they were already at 37 Dun Street then. They were married in 1956 and lived for a few months with Dad's mum before moving to the Queens so I am sure they dd not take over from Mrs Gracie Lewin. When we were there it was a Whitbread pub and we used to go to the Brewery HQ on Lady's bridge. I recall it was the Queen's Hotel and remember we had lodgers.
