Mystery Location

This location should be easy, but what used to here that has gone with out trace

This appears to be one of your own pictures and not a Google Street view and yet that cars rear number plate is totally blank.

Is this intentional? Is it part of the mystery?

there was a farm there, many years ago. (oh, and three other buildings that stood there for less than forty years)

Sherlock Holmes aka VOX has pm'd the correct answer

No Dave the car is not part of the answer, just blanked the number plate out.

Seem to think he could have owned a boat,

but then again he may not have ..

as the last time I spoke with him he showed me this

photograph,

and asked where SHEFFIELD was ?

Right the silo thing is at the Olive Grove depot, we can see the new college, this puts us on the River Sheaf about Myrtle Rd - Gleadless Rd area, using Vox's Sherlock Holmes skills and given where Steve lives would be about right.

The Guess

The builders merchants at the bottom of Myrtle Rd where they are building at the moment.

Will have to drive home that way tonight.

Yes well done Stuart,

now visible due to demolition work “I doubt if it could be seen from a train”

I did ask Gramps for some information,

and this is what he came up with …

"At that time the existing weir served the head goit to the dam for the silver mill. Later when Hodkin and Jones were expanding, the company put the goit in a culvert and that slab with 'SHEFFIELD' in relief is probably over the entrance to this culvert"

Thanks Gramps.

Given that this is Steve's photo it will be near a river or canal and not near a public toilet lol

The sculputure is "Very Sheffield"
