vox
I have been thinking about this, perhaps they will leave it up there, they will need something for maintenance purposes. Keep an eye on it Steve It looks like a window cleaning rig. I'd guess it's on rails.
RichardB
Just under 4 years ro build, the scaffolding and cranes have been removed in the last few weeks When it is likely to be open please ?
DaveH
Now how will they get that down, have we discussed this before Easy, you get it down using the "Norfolk Park Estate Tower Block Method" which goes something like this, - 1 Leave it up there 2 Wait about 30 years 3 The council will then decide that the building is an eyesore and is no longer viable to maintain 4 Workmen remove the lower floors leaving in strategic structural supports that hold the tower up 5 Explosives are placed at crucial points on the strategic supports 6 BANG!!!!! 7 The explosion is designed so that the tower collapses on itself and so can be felled in a confined space in a built up area. 8 As the building has collapsed onto itself the once inaccessible crane on the roof is now easily accessible on top of a pile of rubble. lol

Just seen a couple of blokes in a cradle, looks as if they were doing some sort of inspection, they are walking about on the roof at the moment. DaveH
See if this link works any better Dave .. www.stpauls-sheffield.com That one works just fine Steve. I still can't afford those prices though, but not as expensive as I expected for its location. A new build private house on the Manor of Norfolk Park estate, situated in a location surrounded by council housing costs about the same. See what you mean about the 1.5 bath. Does it mean a larger (wider) than normal bath, or a bath and a shower cubicle perhaps. Perhaps a member who knows about building / plumbing can tell us. I think you'll find it refers to a master bathroom and a shower room or en suite. IE one bathroom and a half bathroom

IE one bathroom and a half bathroom Thanks vox, I knew it would mean something like that. Just as well they have described it in their price list as a "1.5 bath" Had they called it "en suite" it would just be an excuse to push the prices up even higher, :o
SteveHB
Ooo look ... Twirly Whirlies ... spinny round things .. I do remember having something similar as a kid , it was stuck on the end of a bamboo cane, I pulled it apart and pushed the separation beads up my nose, and then finished up in the Royal Hospital (I was around four years old at the time)

In the Farm Road / Norfolk Park Road / Bottom of Park Grange Road area. That's almost in town and well down the hillside. Wouldn't you think they would be better placed up on the top of the hill where there should be more wind to power them? The top of the hill would be on the Arbourthorne near Hurlfield Second thoughts, can't put it there! The local yobs would probably pull it apart and push the bits up their nose! lol

Bayleaf
They're on the new Sheff City College building opposite Granville College. (I think) You can see the building from Greystones Road. Unfortunately the curved facade is viewed at a slight angle, so it looks as if the whole thing is leaning to the right!
