ukelele lady
I love the Ghost Tavern, especially since its so central. Eckington and Mosborough, I couldn't find without a map, but Campo Lane ... are these boozers or beerhouses ? They're all down under public houses.

RichardB
A most excellent find and it seems to extend the date, UKL has 1859 and now 1864. Downes - Bowns - close enogh to be "typed in as heard" ... and it was going for around ten years by 1864. Lot 4 Beerhouse Ghost Tavern. RichardB
I can find no link to beerhouse or public house connected to no. 35 Campo Lane, almost every other trade imaginable but no drinks. I've just had a re-check and it definately says 35. I've looked on the 1854 and the number 25 is a boot & shoe maker by the name of William Singleton and of course there's the sausage maker at number 35. :)

RichardB
Very possibly the least legible line from any Census I have ever seen - but, it's a Publican and the details match with those from 1851 (when he's become a brewer), so here goes Thomas Bodger, aged 35, Publican, Heeley, born Norfolk if that helps. wife Elizabeth 28, born Sheffield Sproglettes : Mary, 3, who makes it to 1851 Census and Rebecca, 1, who doesn't.
