The Whitehouse
The White house was, for many years a fish and chip shop in Pitsmoor, now it is a residence.
I'd like to find out exactly how old this building is. Local heresay claims it is Tudor, and at some time was a coaching inn. But contradictory evidence claims it is 19th century.
Whatever the case, locals thought it was a listed building, but it turns out it's not.
Anything could happen to this fine building, if we could determine it's history we could get it listed. Can anyone help us?

My grandson and I have a growing collection of penkives, many of which are of Sheffield origin. As we are researching them, we have been posting images on the made in sheffield threads, and have been recieving lots of interesting replies (thankyou to members who have taken the time to help us out). most of these images will already have been posted, but I thought it might be of general interest to members and guests to gather them together in one place, so please browse and enjoy. zorro.

William Henry Parker formerly of Sheffield, England
This album contains the headstone and foot stone of William Henry Parker (my grandpa) along with some copied documents I have obtained. His date of birth was incorrectly documented on most things. He was born Feb 10, 1890 in the Workhouse of Sheffield. Mother was a single pauper who seemingly went into the Workhouse as a child herself, Mary Ann Parker, about 1868-?. Also born to her: Eliza Parker, Nov 26, 1886-? and Harry Parker, a British home child, Nov 24, 1895-Mar 16, 1941.
