ManoutotCity 17 Posted April 11 You have the spelling of the place wrong… it was ADELPHI ( as the sign) on the wall confirms. I assume this pub was in Attercliffe ….it’s many, many, years since I was in the area. There was a Cinema by the same name, in that area …my now, long deceased, aunt was a cashier there…even more years ago… Link to comment

That end bit of Arundel Street was later renamed Tudor Way . It would now be under the Crucible Theatre as per map below. We have a few posts regarding the Adelphi, here is one. ------ https://www.sheffieldhistory.co.uk/forums/topic/198-the-adelphi-hotel/#comment-279 Link to comment
ManoutotCity 17 Posted April 16 Yes, the pub didn’t look familiar ( and yes, it crossed my mind that it’s location had the look of The City Centre about it )…..why I was tentative with my suggestion. It’s well over half a century since I was pretty well acquainted with the East End ….some places, some now even obliterated, I still recall well but others I don’t recall, at all. The human mind can be a wonderful thing…..but sometimes very dangerous.. Link to comment
