At the time of the photo I think the building shown would have been Lound infants school...you can just see "Infants" cut into the top stone of the gate.

Behind that was the separate primary school (which had "Boys" and "Girls" entrances carved into the stones).

By the time I went there in 1979 the previously separate schools had been joined together by link building, which acted as the school library, and the whole school was primary, with a new infants having been built about half a mile away on Sherburn Gate (which I also went to).
