RichardB Posted November 24, 2010 Share Posted November 24, 2010 26th June 1794 Publication of the last weekly number of the "Sheffield Register", in which the proprietor, Mr Joseph Gales, inserted his farewell address, stating that "the suspension of the Habeas Corpus Act prevented him saying amongst his friends, unless he would expose himself to the malice, emnity, and power of an unjust aristocracy".
