Guest clifforda1
hi, I was born in 1941 at Eaton hall emergency maternity home near Retford. I am curious as to how my mother finished up there in 1941, I am guessing there was some concern about bombing raids but Sheffield to Retford? also I am curious about the history of Eaton hall before 1941. anyone out there with info? vox
A quick look found this. Not much but it's a start. "The Battery Commander, Major Farrer (or was it Farah?) was the incumbent of Eaton Hall, in the "Dukeries" area of Nottinghamshire. He was married to Angela Kaiser, of the family which co-founded the famous Sheffield firm of Kaiser Ellison Ltd." Memories of Frank Yates
