RichardB Posted August 18, 2010 Share Posted August 18, 2010 A gentleman in the neighbourhood of Sheffield is in possession of a raven which is so tame as to follow him like a dog. When he goes from home it will frequently hop and fly after him for eight or ten miles; and, after having accompanied its master as far as inclination may lead will fly back, though possessed of uncontrolled liberty, to its accustomed place of residence. These birds are said to be remarkably long lived. One of them was shot some time ago on the edge of the high moors near Sheffield to the great concern of the neighbouring inhabitants, the eldest of whom remembered it from their childhood 1 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
