Any guesses to this silhouette picture?

No offers but Richard was the nearest, he guessed the church correctly.

Taken from 23 Dover Street looking towards the now new Netherthorpe road

with Netherthorpe school on the right and St Vincents in the background.

Not a silhouette but a doctored early Sunday morning shot (present day)

but is there a missing church spire to the left of St. Vincents in ukelele ladies original photo?

It would make a Then and Now picture.

Where has the other spire gone and what did it belong to?

What ever it is ,I believe it's still there, you can just see the top of it on your picture.

There seems to be new buildings in front of it, after all my picture was taken in

about 1964-5.

You're quite right ...... I've had a closer look at my original (wiping the bed from my eyes) and the spire is still in view. Following a path on Google Earth it seems its the cathedral on Church Street.

What was once No. 23 Dover Street is now the site of the sports hall for the school across the road.

I'm sure this place has been mentioned sometime or other but

can I find it ,of course not. Any guesses?

Who used this place when it was in it's prime?
