dunsbyowl1867 Posted February 4, 2010 Share Posted February 4, 2010 February 4 4 February 1846 Lord Morpeth elected MP for West Riding replacing John Stuart Wortley (who had been elevated to the Lords as Lord Wharncliffe) 4 February 1914 75 years before another Hillsborough disaster - a wall collapsed at Hillborough during a 2nd round FA Cup replay in front of a record home crowd of 43,000. The new retaining wall at the Penistone Road end collapsed.
