The Edsels of course. (and Rocky Sharpe and the Replays, but mainly The Edsels ...)

I've got a girl named

Rama Lama Ding Dong

She's everything to me

Rama Lama Ding Dong

I'll never set here free

'cause she's mine oh mine

I've got a girl named

Rama Lama Ding Dong

She's fine to me

Rama Lama Ding Dong

You won't believe

that she's mine oh mine

I love her, love her, love her so

and I'll never, never let her go

one thing is certain

she's mine oh mine

all of the time

I've got a girl named

Rama Lama Ding Dong

She's everything to me

Rama Lama Ding Dong

I'll never set here free

'cause she's mine oh mine

I've got a girl named

Rama Lama Ding Dong

I'll never let her go

Rama Lama Ding Dong

I love her, love her so

and she's mine oh mine

The Edsels were an American doo-*** group active during the late 1950s and early 1960s. The name of the group was originally The Essos, after the oil company, but was changed to match the then-new Ford automobile, the Edsel. The Edsels recorded over 25 songs and had multiple performances on wee pipe Clark's American Bandstand . The Edsels were one of the few doo-*** groups to sign with a major record label, as most groups of that era found success with small independent labels. Before their national hit "Rama Lama Ding Dong," songs like "What Brought Us Together," "Bone Shaker Joe," and "Do You Love Me" helped the group land a major recording contract with Capitol Records in 1961.

Today, the group is known almost exclusively for their song, "Rama Lama Ding Dong." The song was recorded in 1957 and released, under the errant title "Lama Rama Ding Dong," in 1958. The song did not become popular until 1961, after a disc jockey in New York City began to play it as a segue from The Marcels doo-*** version of "Blue Moon." The song eventually became popular throughout the USA, peaking at number 21 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

The group continues to perform today. In addition, James Reynolds performs with his five sons Jeff, Baron, Patrick, Chris and Carlise (as The Reynolds Brothers). That group released an album, The Reynolds Brothers, featuring songs written by James and fellow Edsels member George Jones, Jr.

I've searched many years for "The Graph of Doo-Wopishness" once published in Record Collector.

Try "Unchained Melody" by Vito and the Salutations - bunch of loonies... lol

Talking of a bunch of loonies, I saw Darts at the Sheffield University students union in the late 70's. During one of the songs Den Hegarty climbed up the speakers, shuffled along the outside of the balcony, stopped, climbed over and pretended to beat someone up, climbed back and dived into the crowd below. All whilst singing a song.

Great Act.

The Halos - Nag

http://www.nme.com/artists/the-halos

Oh baby you're a nag (nag,naggedy nag)

You're a nag,you're a nag, you're a nag

Would you go do this, and go do that?

Nag

You're always tellin' me a what to do

I just can't seem to get a rid of you

You order me around just like a slave

You're gonna send me to an early grave

Would you go fix the bacon,go for the cokes

"And rush down to the butcher shop and buy me a roast" (spoken)

When is the naggin ever gonna stop?

You always seem to be a blowin your top

One of these days I'm gonna loose my mind

Jump out the window then I'll feel real fine

If you go do this and go do that

And wash up all the dishes and don't talk back

When I married you,you were so sweet

Now you give me the bread and take all the meat (1)

You're always screamin' a hollerin' loud

I'm gonna buy me a ticket to the nearest cloud

I don't know what to do you make me mad

And when I leave this place I'll sure be glad (2)

You're workin' me a just a just a like a horse I guess you think you musta

be my boss With a go do this and go do that, NAG

repeat 1 & 2

Earth Angel - The Penguins

(oh, oh, oh, oh, wah-ah-ah, oh, oh, oh, oh

Earth angel, earth angel

Will you be mine?

My darling dear

Love you all the time

I'm just a fool

A fool in love with you

Earth angel, earth angel

The one I adore

Love you forever and ever more

I'm just a fool

A fool in love with you

I fell for you and I knew

The vision of your love-loveliness

I hoped and I pray that someday

I'll be the vision of your hap-happiness oh, oh, oh, OH!

Earth angel, earth angel

Please be mine

My darling dear

Love you all the time

I'm just a fool

A fool in love with you-ou-ou

I fell for you and I knew

The vision of your loveliness

I hope and pray that someday

That I'll be the vision of your happiness

I the Still of the Night - The Five Satins

In the still of the night

I held you

Held you tight

'Cause I love

Love you so

Promise I'll never

Let you go

In the still of the night

I remember

That night in May

The stars were bright above

I'll hope and I'll pray

To keep your precious love

Well before the light

Hold me again

With all of your might

In the still of the night

(In the still of the night)

So before the light

Hold me again

With all of your might

In the still of the night

(In the still of the night)

In the still of the night

The Closer you are - The Channels

The closer you are the brighter the stars in the sky

And darling, I realize youre the one I live my life for

My heart skips a beat every time you and I meet my life, my love, my dear

I cant defeat that yearning deep in my heart to have only you

When I first saw you, I did adore you any others beware

And then you went away but now your back to stay

And my love for you grows stronger every day

The closer you are the brighter the flames in my heart

And darling, well never part, well always be in love

When I first saw you, I did adore you any others beware

And then you went away but now your back to stay

And my love for you grows stronger every day

The closer you are the brighter the flames in my heart

And darling, well never part, well always be in love

Whoa in love
