I was amused to come across this entry for my great grandad on the school records section on Sheffield Indexers site. Well worth a look - I have found a few relatives on there. http://www.sheffieldindexers.com/SchoolsIndex.html Bennett, Albert (Student, dob 2 May 1880). Parent or guardian name(s): Joseph (~), of 231 Alfred Rd. Admitted to Brightside Boys School, Brightside, as of 22 Oct 1890, until ~, reason for leaving: Truant - Mother shields him.
