vox Posted December 11, 2009 Share Posted December 11, 2009 A spring which forms the framework for protective leg covers as worn by blacksmiths, forge workers etc. The leggings were made of thick leather. Still used now. Can't find any old pics but here's a modern one. Spring Legging SAF-T-Wrap Leather Leggings with reinforcing spring steel inserts. Available in other materials and fabrics.
