A Temperance Soiree and Ball was held at the New Market Hall.

Mrs O'Rouke dies. She was seriously injured when a "can of combustibles" was thrown into the house of George Watnidge a Fener Grinder in Acorn street on 23rd of November.

A tiger escaped from a cage at the Empire Theatre ad injured an attendant being at large for 4 hours.
