I had a newsagents from 66 to 97 and remember well the George Cunningham Cards produced by the Council .

I honestly can’t remember what period  it was but if Ponytail says 80/90s then  Im sure that’s the case.

They were very popular but our bestselling item every year was the Golden Frame Calendar produced by the Star

Estimated date of circulation only based on the names on the Christmas Card. My dad died June 2000 and Doug Newbould, the sender of card didn't include his wife Hilda. He was a friend of my dad's before WWII; in later years as you do, only kept in touch by Christmas Cards. Hence the estimate of 1980/90's.

Done further search to narrow the dates down:

There is a Hilda Newbould in Free BMD search who died Sept Quarter 1982 at Birkenhead (born 1920)

There is a Douglas Newbould died Sheffield 1988 (born 1919)

The Free BMD Search only goes up to 1997.

So from that info, IF they are the right Doug and Hilda. The card was sent sometime between 1982 & 1987.

While trying to find a nearer date came across:

George Cunningham: The Man and His Art ~ Introduction

The Artist

George Cunningham 1924-1996.

The Golden Frame Calendar, a good item to send at Christmas; but I think those deserve a Post all of their own.
