Joe Nibloe made his Sheffield Wednesday debut in a 4-1 victory over Stoke City. He went on to male 116 appearances between 1934-1939 and won a FA Cup winners medal in 1935.

Former Sheffield United footballer Gary West born. Appeared 75 time for United between 1982-1985.
