Early Victorian Bowie Knife by G. Wostenholm Washington Works

Early 1850's for export to the Americas, spear-point 8 inch blade, the blade stamped I*XL, G.WOSTENHOLM & SON. WASHINGTON WORKS.

SHEFFIELD I*XL KNIFE, THE HUNTERS COMPANION. and what appears to be Zachary Taylor mounted on "Old Whitey" from his time in the Mexican-American War, German silver crossguard and ferrule, the staghorn grip carved in relief with the head of the 12th American President, ZACHARY TAYLOR, hilt cap missing. in it's gold tooled leather brass mounted sheath marked I*XL. Overall 13½ inches.
