Guest lorischlomo
Hello Sheffielders, in (386 odr 392?) Glossop Road there must have been a hostel for children and juveniles run by a family named Roberton. Mr. Roberton was the son of Sir Hugh Roberton, conductor of the Glasgow Orpheus Choir, he was a conscientious objector during the war and most probably a member of the Peace Pledge Union like his father. My dad Kurt Beckhardt lived in this hostel as a young jewish refugee from Germany in 1941 an 1942. Does anybody remember this place or the Robertons? Thanks, Lorenz
