tozzin
The Heeley and Sheffield has gone, it's being turned into flats and its car park and surrounding land will have houses built on it. Another old pub gone, just when will it end?

tozzin
The Wyvern Hotel on Leighton Road, Gleadless Valley has been closed for around six months, sadly it seems it will never open as a pub again simply by seeing the prospective buyers who turn up to look at the pub, so it will either be another unwelcome shop, flats or another curry house. I have been a customer in the pub for over forty year’s.

Guest leksand
Athol Hotel. Long gone as a pub. Seemingly jumped between owners/lessees in it's final years. Photos show it "to let" but probably trading or not long closed in 1965. The licence was gone by 1968, but to where remains a mystery (to me at least). Property demolished 2019. Guest leksand
Park & Arbourthorne, Eastern Avenue I believe this place may have operated more as a pub than club in it's final years. I'm sure somebody will be able confirm or correct.
tozzin
The Wyvern Hotel has now met its fate, it’s going to be a burger bar and curry house, this will bring all the problems with litter and such, I would rather have seen it demolished and flats built. Snozzle
Wow, you must be reading my mind SteveHB as that was going to be my next pic which I took last week. The building was covered in scaffolding and was half gone when I cycled past today.

Many years ago, I used to walk past The Old Harrow every morning on my way to and from the pool, before I discovered a back route. I seem to remember it retained it's Ward's livery for a few years before Pubmaster got rid of the red sashes. Although the pub wouldn't have lasted into the 2010s, I think it got fairly close.
