If this sculpture is supposed to represent the city's industrial heritage,why on earth do we yet again give all the glory to the steel industry

and forget the city's mining heritage? Sheffield is sat on coal and has been for millions of years, it has been mined for hundreds of years

and was contributing to the city's economic stability over all this time. Lets not forget that without coal and coke we would not have had steel.

Perhaps a Colliery Headgear and a Bessemer Converter like the one at Kelham Island standing side by side would have been more appropriate?
