Stuart0742
I am looking through my late father's football stuff of 1951/52 (the year derek Dooley scored 46 goals for Sheffield Wednesday) I think he had all the Green-uns for that season, the bag they are in say's "Dooleys Goals" Anyway to start off a series of random posts from this collection this caught my eye 8th September 1951 Must have been a good match A disclaimer for the rest of this topic, I do not know much about football, but my father was proud of his Geenuns and would want something done with them. If I am wrong about anything let me know.

Stuart0742
Derek Dooley's debut for Sheffield wednesday was on 11th March 1950 against Preston at Hillsborough, he then did not play again until 13th Jan 1951 against Charlton away. His career kicked off so to speak when he was brought into the team on the 6th October 1951 against Barnsley at Hillsborough, this was the start of his 46 goals that season. You Dad sounded like a man after my own heart - but I'm still attempting to convince my wife that keeping 'things' for the future is worthwhile = which it is lol
Guest Gramps
Even though my Dad was a rabid Blades supporter (he worked the turnstiles at Bramall Lane), he took me to see Dooley play at Hilsborough a couple of times. It was a fantastic atmosphere with all the fans chanting his name whenever he got the ball.
