The peace gardens are older than 10 ??

St Pauls was demolished and the site leveled by October 1938. The gardens were officially known as St Paul's Gardens but rather oddly (on the brink of war) the people of Sheffield ignored than and called them the Peace Gardens (which they only officially became half a century later). It must have been that piece of paper old Chamberlain held in his hand!

Anniversary of a revamp ...

'The gardens were revamped, with new paving and water features, and work was completed in 1998'
