Do you know if the large ,old (20') high chimney stack is still there ?.It was supposidly left standing and protected while all this building work was going on (listed?). It is located somewhere close behind the advertising placard. :unsure:

There is a brick one just to right near the canal basin?

...No - it will be exactly behind that "quarter"ad sign and probably only visible when removed. I am sure it had to be left and restored, and will have been made a feature to the entrance? :unsure:

YES - thats the one ! I am sure it must be inside the main entrance (now undercover!) and will have made a nice feature and talking point to all who will pass by!

Sorry got a bit confused there - thought you were talking about this which is nowhere near and clearly much higher than 20'. What was this chimney?

Possibly a furnace chimney in the Sheaf Works,

which was built by William Greaves & Sons in 1825.
