neddy
A Terrible Death, Tuesday, April 25, 1893 The sheffield coroner held an inquest yesterday on William Henry Davy, age 24, who met death whilst at work at Neepsend Rolling Mills. Deceased's duty was to catch a red hot wire with pincers when it came from the rolls, but the other afternoon he missed it, and it curled round his foot, and drew him towards the machine. Before his fellow-workmen could interfere, it burned his head and arm off, death being instantaneous. A verdict of accidental death was returned. Note: I think the age may be wrong, Deaths Jun 1893 Davy William Henry 34 Sheffield 9c
