Guest tsavo
Can anyone tell me where Bloor or Blor St was? I have a feeling it was in lower Walkley possibly around the Burgoyne Rd or Kelvin area. I'm pretty sure there was a direct hit from a bomb which caused terrible loss of life including many children. Anyone remember this? Found this in Picture Sheffield, but no details. Link: http://www.picturesheffield.com/cgi-bin/pi...ff.refno=s00998
HughW
Bloor Street was where Ruskin Park is now. It ran from Burgoyne Road to Daniel Hill Street, opposite the top of Blake Street. Bloor Street and Harworth Street were above and parallel with Harold Street (now the northern boundary of the park). Hugh

Guest tsavo
Maps prove their weight in gold, again! Assume the gaps at the end of the road were the bombed houses. I did some research on this back in the mid -70s but have forgotten the details. I do remember that several children were victims in this particular tragedy.
