A listing of Sheffield and district people from an 1841 Election.

Thanks Richard that's great. I claim one of my g-g-g-g-grandfathers :

Hallam Upper Township

Angelo Andrews Bright Street Sheffield

What a fab name that must have been in 1840's Sheffield!

Sorry what are the 4 column head on the right I can't make them out?

From the Sheffield Local Register:

12 Jul 1841

Declaration.of the result of the Poll for the West Riding;

Wortley, 13,165; Denison, 12,780; Morpeth, 12,031:

Milton, 12,080 ; number of electors, 30,998.

Detailed statistics suggest that Wortley and Denison lost in Sheffield but were obviously more popular in the rest of the West Riding. I think they were the Tories but I am not sure.

edit Yes, Wortley and Denison were Tories, Morpeth and Milton were Whigs.
