Guest LukeD
I'm currently researching the history of Longshaw Lodge near Grindleford. Has anyone or their family had anything to do with Longshaw in the past? Does anyone have any old photographs? (I have already been on picturesheffield) I'm especially intersted in its use as an auxiliary hospital in WW1 - does anyone know anything about this, or have any info on Sir Charles and Lady Alice Clifford of Whirlow who visited the soldiers. Also trying to find out more about the Duke of Rutland's staff, so far I have 2 leads - William Wild born circa 1847 in Stoney Middleton was a woodman and gardener, and Sarah E Lowe, born circa 1867 was a domestic housemaid. Please let me know anything, however irrelevant it may appear. Cheers
