Thundercliffe Grange

Plan of Thundercliffe Grange in 1773. This is the earlier house which was demolished shortly after 1777 (see the notes)

There is a correction to Note vi - Russian bath should read Roman bath. This must have been a fashion, Hillsborough hall had a Roman Bath at one time, on the spring feeding the lake.

Some more about Thundercliffe Grange ... Rotherham-The Unofficial Website

I am grateful for the info.

As a lad in the 1950's my favourite bike ride was from where I lived at Page Hall over the hill to "The wood bottom" and up the lane past Thundercliffe Grange, at the top turning right to go past Keppels Column ( which I went up a few times - thankfully it was open then) , through Kimberworth and back home via Wincobank.

I never knew what Thundercliffe was until I read the article today.
