The Architects plans appear to show it was Henry Waterfall who built Whirlow Cottage at Ecclesall. The 1849 Directory shows also residing at Whirlow Grange, J.G. (John Gray) Waterfall. The brothers, John born 1802 and Henry 1804 shared the business premises at No.1 Fargate (1862 Directory, Henry at 3 Fargate), John a confectioner and Henry a solicitor.
