Ponytail
Greystones Hall, Greystones Hall Road. 1885. s05621 Greystones Hall was built, c. 1800, for Samuel Greaves, the grocer. It replaced the old Hall built by the Brights 200 years earlier. It is said that the mortar was mixed with treacle, which when mixed with sand and lime, was one of the best cures for damp. For notes see page 22, Sheffield Illustrated, Vol 2. Greystones Hall for many years was occupied by Telephone Rentals (TR) as a Regional Office. The Hall then became Greystones Hall Rest Home.
