Having left Sheffield 57 years ago, the Winter Gardens, the canal basin and The Moor were quite a revelation.   As a child, my memory of The Moor was that the pavements were heaving with shoppers on a Saturday morning.   I recall the Market before Castle Market (was it the Hay Market ?); you could buy anything there from cats, dogs and chickens through to dinner plate sets that were juggled by the stall holders.   A magic place for a child.  The later Castle Market was functional, but lost the atmosphere, smell and delight of the old market.    I know things change, but what on earth has happened to the Peace Gardens ?
