Lysanderix
John Bedford and Co was still with us in the 1970s as were Burys and Co…as part of the Osborn group. I found the advert showing beater bars fascinating. I was Export Manager at Rotherham Tinsley Steels Ltd in the early 70s where we exported many tonnes of the section around the world…including Poland…where we were paid by barter in Krakus jam and Pek ham….all traded through a London merchant house. At the time we had a virtual monopoly as we rolled all of the sections whereas our American competitors were limited in what they could produce…as were the Russians. We had reached that position after what I was told was a bit of “daring “intelligence work “as we advanced into Germany in 1945!
