Is this William Brown connected to Browns Family Jewellers & Pawnbrokers, Pinstone Street?

Joseph Brown, father of William Brown originally set up the business in Church Street in 1808 moving to a number of addresses in High Street before settling at No. 62.

Information from, "The Story of Sheffield High Street" by Pat Dallman.

The bankruptcy of William Brown's (late1880) occurred well after the death of William Brown. Control of the firm was in the hands of 2 other Browns, Henry John Brown and Edward Francis Brown (possibly sons??) but using the original firm name. After starting as partners in early 1881 the bankruptcy review suggested they had become insolvent by 1884. AIso, referred to in the statement was the setting up close by of another similar business called "Brown". I wonder if it was the forerunner of "Brown, H.L. & Son (Greenwich Timed Watches, Jeweller & Diamond Merchants),"BROWN, Harris Leon (Qualifying property, Shop, 24 Angel Street) 1875-1876.

I looked around on line to see if there were any pocket watch movements with the William Brown name on. I did not see any to show here. The 2 watch images on our site do not show a "named" movement. I am not a horologist but could some of William Brown's watchmaking have been "assembling" watches from bought in parts and adding their name to a case cover or dial.

H. L. Brown jewellers on the left hand corner of Fargate / Leopold Street, this may have been part of the Brown family of jewellers, I bought my wife’s wedding ring from there.
