Whites Directory 1862 Peace, Joseph and Co., steel converters, refiners, tilter and rollers and manufacturers of saws, crinoline steel & etc., Merchant Works, Neepsend Lane, h Oxford Street. Not found John Brownill in 1862 Directory, recorded in the Flood Claim as partner in J. Peace & Co. Hobson, Samuel Johnson, steel convertor and refiner etc., (Peace, J & Co) h. Upperthorpe Road Destructive fire at 3 Rolling Mills, Neepsend Lane. Sheffield Independent 12 April 1871. How did it affect Joseph Peace & Co.? Grace's Guide reports Incorporated into Sheffield Steel Products 1918. Think William Hobson Peace may be related to this dynasty, Whites Directory 1862 Peace, William Hobson, manager, Old Park Silver Rolling Mills. Whites Directory 1879 Peace, W H ( Executrix of), metal and silver roller, Od Park Silver Rolling Mills, Old Park Wood Side. There is a publication 1999 probably out of print: Peace Families of Sheffield A Story of File Makers and Steel Makers, by L Ralph Peace. Many filesmiths etc. businesses with the name Peace.
