I work in vintage retail for a local charity and by some weird coincidence a mirror from the Sheffield United Gas Oil Lamp Co. found it’s way to my shop!!! Of course, I HAD to buy it because of my family’s connection to Sheffield; I would love to know how the mirror found it’s way from Sheffield to Essex, but sadly our donated goods don’t come with any provenance…. I think your mirror is a result of the advertising mirror trend around thirty odd years ago, these type of mirrors were reproduced in their thousands but that doesn’t detract from the adverts they carried.
