If the date was later, the tall lad on the back row, 5th from left looks like Alf Short (born 1914) elder brother of Bob.

Ponytail
Shiregreen Council School Help needed to identify the shield and trophy please. 1928/9 Shiregreen School had won the Barber Shield 1928 (its not that one) Could be a School Annual Award or connected with Schools Cricket. The School had also won the Football Wednesday Challenge Shield 1928/29 Bob Short holding the Cup and Trophy we assumed it was just connected to Cricket.
