Soldier at Kelham Island

The photo shows a soldier that stood guard outside some works entrance , I believe he had a fellow soldier on the opposite side, I know ive read somewhere just where he and his mate stood guard but I just cant remember just where he stood guard, I have an inkling it could have been a steel works, does anyone have an idea where he spend his days? He now spends his days at Kelham Island Museum.

Originally he was Samuel Marshall's trademark, but Burys (Regent Works, Penistone Road) bought Marshall out around 1884.  Marshalls made prize winning sheep shears.
