Lysanderix Posted November 25, 2022 Share Posted November 25, 2022 Lead smelting in the nearby Dore/ Totley area was improved from the traditional “campaigns” …(depending on a suitable wind blowing against a suitable hill upon which a timber fire was lit under the galena ore,) by the introduction of water powered bellows…enabling smaller and more easily handled lead ingots to be made.The water coming from local ,fast flowing streams.
