Bowie knives and pocket knives

When Geronimo surrendered to the U.S. Cavalry among his itemised belongings was a Bowie knife made by Wostenholm’s  plus  when Abraham Lincoln was shot he also had a Sheffield made knife in his possession, a pocket knife made I believe by John Cowlishaw, such was the reputation of Sheffield made knives that it was the thing to have, even Geronimo knew he had a quality made knife in his belt.

Don't know where this one was made but it was an early one I picked up at an antique fair
