LeadFarmer Posted January 10 Author Share Posted January 10 The photo posted previously with the soldier with fixed bayonet would perhaps be stood at the entrance to the military camp located there.. This is a map showing the camp, for reference the crossroads at centre left between No 2 Camp (men) and Engine Repair Depot is where Meadowhead roundabout is located today... I've zoomed into the map and put the red arrow where I think he was stood, just between the cottages and the No 1 Camp (men) which perhaps explains his presence (just noticed a Pinfold across the road where they held animals that had escaped from farms, returned upon payment)..
