200 Year old Lime Works and Kilns

Right on the side of the Chesterfield Canal.

The section near Kiveton and Anston has a great history of quarry and the line industry, with so many old works seen on the maps of yesteryear.

Here is an example of one nature has done a great job of reclaiming. The lime kilns are in quite good condition, but it was a bit of a pig to access. Certainly a challenge in summer.
