So sorry to hear of the loss of life in Sheffield, due to the flooding. Hope it doesn't get worse overnight with the "run off".

One for the archive ! I could make a joke about walking on water but I doubt any of the current squad could.

Hope everyone on here in Sheffield got home safely. My sister and her baby were rescued and taken home by the police from their car in Attercliffe - they refused to take her partner who had to walk to Norwood via Hillsborough via town and wade across Penistone Road with the help of the Army!

hope her partner got home safely too. who would have thought that the city built on 7 hills would look like an island. my mother in law lives on winn gardens luckily she lives further up the estate from the flooding but never the less she still hasn't had any electric since yesterday and they are now saying it could be up to another 48 hours before they put it back on!!!! :(:( :(

I've been away since 1981, Winn Gardens is near Langsett Avenue, near the limit of Sheffield, towards Oughtibridge, opposite Middlewood Hospital

My son was telling me today how he had driven past Winn Gardens...."you should have seen it Dad, theres was crap everywhere", he said.

I couldn't help it....well come on...you know whats coming!

All together now...

"Oh was it son....and what was it like after it got flooded!!"

Excellent photos - like the ones at Woodhouse Mill - and just to let people know , the M1 was re-open earlier this evening.

Great photos Hjdary, just down the road from me. Haven't been down there myself, bit scared of the idea of the dam busting. Hope you didnt get your car wet.

My sister, Zoro on this forum, tried to get me a copy of the Star (with 17 page supplement), tried 12 shops - all sold out, she finally managed to find one on a "Free swoppie" internet sire, so had to drive to Greenhill to get me a copy; will scan and post when it arrives, for those, like me, who are not exactly local lol

Unless someone beats me to it .... which would be great

Charlie wasn't right keen on getting his tyres wet so he stayed in that afternoon, and looked comfortable in front of the fire, we didn't have the heart to disturb him so we took the stinky work van.

If a vehicle was going to be abandoned and flooded out it wasn't going to be Charles!

lol
