Thursday 16th January 13.00 -13.45

Friends of Sheffield Castle very own Dr Glyn Davies, in conjunction with Sheffield Museums Trust, presents an overview of recent archaeological investigations and the potential for further discoveries on the site of Sheffield Castle at Weston Park Museum. Ron Clayton, Chair of FOSC, will be in attendance and it will be an opportunity to visit SMT’s fascinating exhibition on the Castle and to join the ranks of FOSC. Admission is free and there is no need to book.

Wednesday 12th February 18.30 – 19.45

Local Elizabethan historian and Chair of the Friends Of Sheffield Manor Lodge, David Templeman, will be talking about Life in Tudor and Stuart Sheffield in the Carpenter Room, First Floor, Central Library. Admission is £2.The Chair of Friends of Sheffield Castle will also be in attendance. Again another opportunity to join the FOSC!

Details of the month long exhibition put together for Friends of Sheffield Castle by Anna Badcock and Dr Glyn Davies and a local placement Student in the display window on the First Floor of the Central Library, Surrey Street. This will run throughout February.

Tuesday 28 January 2014 2pm – 4pm at Weston Park Museum

Free Archaeology Identification Afternoons. Bring your own archaeological finds, coins or medals for identification and recording by your local Finds Liaison Officer, Amy Downes.

No need to book (please note they are unable to give valuations. All items must have been found in the field, not your attic!))
