Guest Jiawen Zhou
A whale came to Sheffield on several occasions in the 50s, 60s and 70s, being displayed on The Moor. Who can remember this and offer more relevant information? I'm a student journalist from the University of Sheffield and writing a feature about this. Thanks a lot! RichardB
Whale It was at the very bottom of The Moor, the place was like a building site, high wooden fences all around. You paid your money, trundled in, up a ramp, went inside, walked around and marvelled at the refridgeration units then left, via the entrance. Memories of it ? Just a little seedy, just like a tasteless fairground attraction.
